THE TEAM
Several years ago I expanded my practice inviting several consultants to join, work and learn with me. Each one is supervised and trained by me in the niche areas of work that I do. They are energetic, motivated and skilled clinicians whom I am proud to call a part of my team.
So much of our wounding can happen in relationships. Based on this I also believe much of our healing can be found in relationship and community. My hope is that therapy can can serve as a place to practice relationally and embark on the journey of healing thru connection to the self and with others.
I began my career in the mental health field at Queens Family Justice Center (QFJC) in New York City, serving survivors of domestic violence and human trafficking. Following QFJC, I worked at The Institute for Community Living providing direct clinical services for women residing in the shelter system. It was through these experiences that I began to see the way in which the past informs the present and the tremendous impacts of trauma on an individuals mind, body and spirit.
While considering each individuals uniqueness, I weave together teachings from Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, (Level 2) and various modalities to provide comprehensive care. As a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist, (CSAT) and sex therapist, (AASECT in progress) I provide treatment to populations with the following presenting concerns: sex and porn addiction, betrayal trauma, relational and complex trauma, intimacy and sexual health. My approach to working with clients is based off of each individuals needs and desired goals of treatment with special attention to each clients identity and culture. Some fundamental aspects of my work are that it be collaborative and organic while highlighting each persons intrinsic worth and strength. I believe we have the answers within ourselves and its just about unlocking them.

Connecting with others to walk through grief and heal from emotional traumas has been a strong passion of mine. In 2011, my curiosity led me to seminars on topics such as human sexuality, and sex and love addiction. This along with my own experiences around trauma led me to wanting a deeper understanding of its effects.
My first role in the field was at the Safe Center in Long Island, supporting and educating female survivors of intimate violence.
My involvement there deepened my passion for working with
women, especially around intimacy.
My next role was working at Kenneth Peters Center for Recovery, an out patient treatment facility assisting persons with alcoholism and substance abuse issues. I found here that I have great compassion for people who are suffering with addiction. Working toward building trust and safety with people as well as using relational therapy I help to facilitate growth and awareness.
I began my certification in sex addiction therapy through the Institute of Trauma and Addiction Professionals and acquired my ASAT this past year
I enjoy working together with clients to help understand the root causes of their addictions and in finding relief from negative patterns. I strive to help my clients identify their strengths and work with them to uncover unresolved conflicts. Additionally, I love a good laugh and finding humor in life.

Is looking back the key to a brighter road ahead? This is a question I constantly ask myself and also feel is important for clients to think about. My greatest belief is that one’s relationship with self is the most important relationship of all. Once that foundation is solid, relationships with others can be viewed in a healthy, open, and honest way.
A graduate of the Wurzweiler School of Social work at Yeshiva University, I believe this work is one of connection, community, and serving clients to realize their entire worth and potential. As a group work specialist, I look forward to the continued creation of groups with clients willing to work together to provide support and guidance to each other. I additionally received a Creative Arts and Healing certification and love to apply unique tools and methods during sessions with clients. As a Phi Alpha Honor Society member, I continue to strive to promote humanitarian efforts through volunteer work with the NYC LGBT Community Center, The New York Anti-Violence Project, SAGE NYC, God's Love We Deliver, and The Trevor Project. I believe my work as a social worker stretches beyond my time with individual clients, and I must join community organizations to reach those that are the most in need.
I approach all client sessions in a holistic, organic way, committed to building a safe, open environment where a client’s needs are observed and respected. I genuinely believe there is no one “correct way” to approach a session, and each client deserves a session tailored to their individual needs and desires. I ask clients to join me in concluding each session with a cleansing, meditative breath-work; allowing us both to reflect on what was said and move forward in a clear, relaxed state.
With training through the HeartMath Institute, I am commited to explore the connection of one’s mental, physical, and emotional state to align with their heart’s guidance. This work empowers me to be fully aware of my client’s present state and gives the strong desire to be sure they move forward in a positive light and love. I will always be honored to work with every person who comes my way; I deeply value the time and space together and will do whatever is possible to be a source of strength and guidance for you.
